We are pleased to inform you that the delegates of our Twenty-Fourth Biennial State Conference and Political Convention have voted to endorse your candidacy for the Virginia House of Delegates in the upcoming 2019 election.
Happy to endorse @GayleJforVA for Virginia Delegate in the 82nd district.
Gayle's opponent just introduced a weak poor excuse of an #ERPO bill that does not get the job done. As delegate, Gayle Johnson will support a strong ERPO bill and other commonsense life-saving policies.Continue reading »
A new day and a new endorsement for LEED Accredited Professional with the US Green Building Council, Gayle Johnson knows that there are cost effective solutions available today that can help mitigate flooding and slow the sea level rise that threatens the existence of our community. Tax credits for green building techniques, electric vehicles and solar panels will not only reduce carbon emissions but will also create jobs in a clean energy economy.

We are proud to endorse and support Gayle Johnson’s sustainability platform to address climate change and flooding. This district is flippable and should be targeted as one to take back the House of Delegates, making for a Blue General Assembly & Commonwealth.
“I will fight for a sustainable future built on common sense policy, high quality jobs, and a just and equitable society.
We need to take action now to make sure we preserve our vibrant coastal community for the next generation of Virginians.”
We can build off Northam’s 46% of votes within the district in 2017 and match Tim Kaine’s 48.54% to Stewart’s 48.96%. I invite those across the Commonwealth to invest in this district, in Gayle Johnson, to help pass progressive policy in the General Assembly, and to better the infrastructure in the 82nd and protect our communities.Continue reading »

I am thrilled to announce Clean Virginia’s first round of endorsements for Virginia’s General Assembly elections on November 5th, 2019. We at Clean Virginia are excited to support 61 clean government and clean energy champions running for Virginia’s House of Delegates and State Senate in 2019, all of whom refuse campaign contributions from utility monopolies like Dominion Energy.
Meet these diverse and talented candidates, and share with your friends on social media!
We’re on track to have one of the cleanest elections in Virginia’s history, thanks to these principled men and women running for Virginia’s General Assembly. In addition to candidates’ stances on refusing contributions from monopoly utilities like Dominion Energy and Appalachian Power Company and their lobbyists, Clean Virginia endorses based on a series of criteria: public statements and actions, responses to our 2019 Candidate Questionnaire, and legislative record (for incumbents).
All 140 seats in Virginia’s General Assembly are up for grabs this fall, signifying a new opportunity to elect candidates who will pass meaningful clean government and clean energy policy for Virginians.

For many years now, I have found myself wondering why our political system has not better harnessed the immense potential of the internet to better represent our citizens. The past twenty years have seen the American political system become more and more polarized even while our ability to connect with each other has exponentially improved. So why can’t we fix that?
The answer is that we absolutely can.
One of the central strategies of my campaign is to use new digital tools to better connect with my constituents. One of the these tools, Voterfied, was launched this week. It will allow any registered voter in District 82 to voice their opinions by answering questions covering a wide variety of topics.
This deceptively simple platform represents a major step forward for our democracy. Want to know what your constituents think about the best way to fight the climate crisis? Or what they think about recently proposed legislation? Just ask.
If used correctly, platforms such as Voterfied could revolutionize our political system. I hope all of you will join me in this experiment in online democracy.
